Textures give spaces depth and interest. Try adding a few pillows or knitted throws on your sofa and chairs. Add some greenery in woven or metal containers. Change out a coffee table for an over-sized ottoman or a vintage trunk. Add a tray and drape with a small throw. Nubby neutrals in grey, charcoal and tan go nicely with nearly any style of décor. Using mixtures of organic elements, such as sprigs of evergreen, pine cones and berries are an inviting touch in even the most contemporary homes.

Imagine it’s February and the forecast calls for more snow (or sleet and rain). Why not have a few friends and family over for game night? Set up a s’mores station and roast marshmallows over the fire. Lay a blanket or thick, cozy rug on the floor with lots of pillows and “camp”.
