Light and Airy
This past week, we completed a flooring project in a new construction home here in Northern Colorado. Our client selected white oak because of the traditional graining patterns and light brown tones.White oak is a smart choice when looking for smooth, uniform texture and durable floor covering options for high-traffic areas. The bright, creamy color palette of white oak can make a room feel uplifting, light and serene, which turned out to be a perfect fit for our client. The light color of the wood complemented the darker cabinets, trim, and wood accents in other areas.
This home also featured an open floor plan, so when choosing stain color, our client wanted to keep a light and airy feel. They selected a beautiful stain color that enhanced the natural state of the wood. The white oak was stained with EZ Prime and finished in semi-gloss. This brought the design concept together and created one cohesive space. The light and airy feeling of the floors opened everything up while highlighting the trim, and cabinets.
One of the unique focal points in this new home was an inset stone "rug" above the stairs. Before the stone was able to be set, our team built the wood frame that would surround the stone.
In the end, our client was incredibly happy and we were excited to see the final results.
