In fall of last year, just before the leaves made their final journey to the ground and the snow began to show its face, we completed a lovely lakeside remodel for one of our fantastic clients. The home itself is quaint with a cottage feel. The backyard overlooks a peaceful lake where the homeowner could sit on the porch and drink a cup of tea or delve into a good read. When we started this project, our focus was to bring the amazing qualities of the house and its surroundings.
We wanted to bring nature inside of the master bath. Our designer added what is called "Nature's Curve" wall planks behind the soaking tub in order to achieve that. We used select maple wood with a white finish. On the adjacent wall, we used porcelain tile in a straight stacked layout. The upper section had a polished finish and the lower section was finished in matte.In the master bedroom, we focused on the light and chose a wool carpet that is soft to the touch. Our designer selected the carpet in "Dove" tone to keep the feeling of airiness.
Finally, in the main living areas, we focused on the cottage feel, letting the backyard lake shine. Using European White Oak with a grey wash stain, our designer was able to create a platform to enhance the picturesque surroundings and existing furniture.
